By MARTY JAMES martyjames.sports@gmail.com
With his golf bag in hand and his family by his side, Dominic Taverrite called his arrival at Napa Valley College on Friday “just a really surreal experience.”

Taverrite said he has spent his whole life dreaming of playing college golf. At Napa Valley, he will get that opportunity, playing in a program led by head coach Bob Freschi.

Alfredo Hernandez and Napa Valley College have a connection that spans years and years.
Hernandez was in elementary school when his older sister, Dalila Hernandez, would drop him off, either at the Math Department or the McCarthy Library, while she was taking a class at NVC.
It’s where Alfredo spent part of day after school – getting his homework done, reading, and staying on top of his studies as a student at Vichy Elementary School.
It’s where he got his AA degree in Natural Science in 2012.

The CCCAA Board understands the impact this will have on our student-athletes. The CCCAA will be working to minimize those impacts when it comes to student-athlete CCCAA eligibility, as well as at the four-year college level. For more information and updates, visit the CCCAA website.
