Connor Ulm and Marcellus Cueva each had two hits and Caleb Morant drove in three runs for the Napa Valley College baseball team in its 18-3 nonconference loss to Chabot College on Wednesday, Feb. 12 in Hayward.
The loss is the 10th in a row for Napa Valley (0-10 overall).
Napa Valley was ahead 1-0 through three innings.
The game was tied 1-1 in the fourth inning.
Chabot scored two runs in the sixth inning, three runs in the seventh inning, and 12 runs in the eighth inning.
Ulm was 2-for-3 and Cueva was 2-for-5 with a double.
Napa Valley had two errors, left 12 runners on base, walked seven times and struck out four times.
Also, with hits for the Storm:
Wyatt Smith (1-for-5, run scored), Shosei Tatsuno (1-for-4, run scored), Myles Gray (1-for-1, run scored), Dominick Garcia (1-for-4).
Tatsuno scored when Morant reached on an RBI fielder's choice in the first inning.
Smith scored in the seventh inning on Morant's RBI infield groundout.
Gray scored in the ninth inning when Morant reached on an RBI fielder's choice.
Roy Hernandez started for the Storm and pitched six innings, facing 28 batters. Hernandez gave up seven hits and five runs (all earned), walked two and struck out five.
Shinra Saka, Yugo Sakagawa and Nick Paulson pitched in relief.
NVC's next game is on Saturday, Feb. 15 at Cosumnes River College-Sacramento at 12 p.m.
