Ulm, Morant lead Napa Valley College baseball team in loss to Ohlone College

Connor Ulm had three hits and Caleb Morant had two hits for the Napa Valley College baseball team in an 11-3 nonconference loss to Ohlone College in Fremont on Tuesday, Feb. 11.

Ulm was 3-for-4 and scored a run.

Morant was 2-for-5.

Napa Valley (0-9 overall) had eight hits and left 11 runners on base.

The Storm also had three errors.

Additional hits came from Owen Nelson (1-for-5, run scored), Josh Rivera (1-for-2, RBI), and Dominick Garcia (1-for-4).

Ethan Boatman scored a run.

Napa Valley struck out eight times and walked four times against Ohlone pitching.

It was a 2-2 game in the first inning.

Nelson scored on an infield error and Ulm scored on Rivera's RBI single in the first inning for NVC.

Boatman scored on an infield error in the eighth inning.

Blake Goen got the start and took the loss after pitching four innings and facing 26 batters.

Emilio Diaz pitched in relief, going four innings and facing 17 batters. Diaz allowed four hits and one run (earned).

Ohlone had 16 hits, including six doubles. Ohlone scored two runs in the first, third and fourth innings, and scored five runs in the fifth inning.
