NVC volleyball drops last two matches of 2022 season

The Napa Valley College volleyball team lost its last two matches of the 2022 season, falling 3-0 at home to Yuba College Marysville on Wednesday, Nov. 9, and falling 3-0 at Los Medanos College-Pittsburg on Friday, Nov. 11.

The Storm ends the season at 4-14 overall, 2-10 in the Bay Valley Conference.

For the season, the Storm averaged 6.47 kills per set, 5.42 assists per set, 2.42 service aces per set, and 17.08 digs per set.

In Napa Valley's 25-22, 25-19, 25-15 loss to Yuba, the Storm was led by Bella Dubois with 12 kills, one service ace, 11 digs, a solo block and 14 points, and Maui Cabrera with five kills, seven service aces, 14 digs and 12 points.

Also playing in the match for NVC:

* Aliya Merino: one kill, six digs, one point.

* Sienna Marin: two kills, two service aces, five digs, four points.

* Maria Magaoay: two kills, 21 set assists, nine digs, two points.

* Madison Iwatsu: one kill, nine digs, one point.

In Napa Valley's 25-19, 25-20, 25-19 loss to Los Medanos, the Storm was led by Bella Dubois with 11 kills on a .229 kill percentage, one service ace, eight digs, one solo block and 13 points.

Also contributing for NVC:

* Maui Cabrera: two kills, one service ace, five digs, three points.

* Madison Gramlich: seven digs.

* Sienna Marin: two kills, one service ace, three digs, one solo block, one block assist, 4.5 points.

* Maria Magaoay: three kills, 17 set assists, two service aces, 11 digs, one block assist, 5.5 points. * Madison Iwatsu: two kills, 12 digs, two points.

CCCWVCA State Women's Volleyball Top 25

Seven Northern California teams are in the California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 rankings, as announced in a report on Nov. 8 by the California Community College Athletic Association at cccaa.prestosports.com.

The Top 25 is led by No 1 Feather River-Quincy (29-1).

Also in the rankings:

No. 2 San Joaquin Delta-Stockton (21-2), No. 3 College of San Mateo (18-3), No. 7 American River-Sacramento (17-4), No. 16 Cabrillo-Aptos (12-8), No. 18 Hartnell-Salinas (17-10), No. 25 Sierra-Rocklin (14-12).

The "best of the rest" includes:

Solano Community College-Fairfield (23-7), West Valley-Saratoga (11-9), Folsom Lake (13-10), Modesto (13-13), Santa Rosa (14-10), Shasta-Redding (12-14), Sacramento City (15-11), Monterey Peninsula (13-5), Cosumnes River-Sacramento (12-13), De Anza-Cupertino (11-11), Merced (11-9), Mendocino-Ukiah (13-5), Lassen-Susanville (12-10).
