NVC’s Libby Webb ‘has a passion for the game of golf’
AMERICAN CANYON – Libby Webb spent several months preparing and getting ready for her sophomore season on the Napa Valley College women’s golf team.
It all began for Webb during the team’s spring program when she worked with David Knox, the Storm’s assistant coach and a PGA Class A golf professional who is the Director of Instruction at Napa Golf Course at Kennedy Park.
“He was super helpful. We worked a lot more on mechanics,” said Webb. “He helped me with swing mechanics, putting and chipping. All of that really helped. He focused on a lot of wedge shots, like 40 to 80 yards, which is really important. You can be in that situation all the time. So, getting better at those shots, for sure, has an impact on my game.”

Simon Cook has great respect for Napa Valley College’s head coach, Rogelio Ochoa, and the Storm men’s soccer program.
“When you play against Napa, it's going to be hard fought. You have to earn your win,” said Cook, the head coach at Evergreen Valley College-San Jose.
Evergreen Valley scored both of its goals in the first half and held on for a 2-1 win over host Napa Valley in a nonconference game on Friday, Sept. 19.
Evergreen Valley (3-1-1 overall) went into the game at No. 19 in the California Community College Sports Information Association Poll, announced in a report by the California Community College Athletic Association, at www.cccaasports.org, on Sept. 16.
