Storm Drop Two Games at College of Sequioas Tournament

Visalia, CALIF- Napa Valley College Baseball traveled to Visalia for the College of the Sequoias Tournament. In the tournament they faced Bakersfield College and Golden West. In these two games pitching and defense were the not in the Storm favor giving up 31 runs.

In the first game against Bakersfield it was a close game until Bakersfield opened up their lead with a 7 run bottom of the 3rd eventually ending in a 5-16 loss. The Storm were only out hit by four, but couldn't find the timely hit to cut into the lead. Errors by the Storm infielders also played a part in extending innings for the Bakersfield. Antonio Diaz had 2 RBIs while Carter Pennington, Stefan Raeth, and Clayton Espino had 1 RBI. The losing pitcher was Felipe Gonzalez in two innings, with 10 earned runs. Logan Harvey came into relief going 4 innings.

In the second game the bats were quieted by Golden West pitching. While a nine run 6th inning by Golden West was too much for the storm to overcome in a 2-15 loss. Storm errors in the 6th inning allowed Golden West to score multiple unearned runs. This game the storm could not figure out the Golden West starter as he struck out nine Storm batters in seven innings. The only offense from the Strom was a double by Carter Pennington and a single from Noah Wallen.

The Storm now (0-5) on the season take on San Francisco City in San Francisco, Game was relocated due to field conditions on Strom Field.
