Farrington explodes for 48 points for NVC in overtime loss to Solano Community College

Chris Farrington had one of the biggest games by a player in Napa Valley College men's basketball history, scoring 48 points and hitting six 3-pointers for the Storm in its 107-98 overtime loss to Solano Community College on Friday, Feb. 16 in Fairfield.

Farrington, a 6-foot-1 freshman guard who is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was 17-of-29 shooting from the field, 6-of-8 from 3-point distance, and 8-of-15 from the free-throw line, in 39 minutes.

He also had eight rebounds and four assists.

After scoring 13 points in the first half, Farrington exploded, scoring 26 points in the second half, as the Storm rallied to force overtime, with the score tied at 85-85 at the end of regulation.

Farrington scored nine points in overtime for Napa Valley (2-24 overall, 2-12 Bay Valley Conference), which has lost five in a row and was outscored 22-13 in the OT period.

Solano (7-20 overall, 5-10 Bay Valley) had a 44-37 lead at halftime.

Also, scoring in double figures for the Storm was Jerard Jackson, with 13 points, three 3-pointers, two rebounds and three assists; Raekwon Bell, with 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists; and Jamari Taylor, with 11 points, four rebounds and two steals.

Nate Broome had seven points.

Jalen Moore had six points, nine rebounds, two steals and five blocked shots.

Ethan Williams and Hassan Flemming each had three rebounds.

NVC shot 48.6 percent from the field (34-of-70), 50.0 percent from 3-point distance (11-of-22), and 65.5 percent from the free-throw line (19-of-29). The Storm had 40 rebounds, 12 assists, six steals and seven blocked shots.

Justiz Armstrong-Wilson led five Solano players in double figures, scoring 27 points.

Matthew Elliott scored 24 point, Jacques Jones had 16 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and three steals, and Abram Bennett scored 17 points and had 19 rebounds.

Andre Nickel had 10 points.

Samuel Lenjik scored nine points and had seven rebounds and four assists.

Solano shot 40.5 percent from the field (34-of-84), 37.5 percent from the 3-point line (12-of-32), and 67.5 percent from the free-throw line (27-of-40). Solano had 57 rebounds, 17 assists and six steals.

Solano was 12-of-14 from the free-throw line in overtime.

"Sophomore Night" for Napa Valley is Tuesday, Feb. 20 when it hosts College of Marin-Kentfield at 7:30 p.m.

* The Storm lost, 93-78 to Los Medanos College on Feb. 7 in Pittsburg.

The Storm was led by Farrington (21 points, eight rebounds, eight assists), Broome (12 points, six rebounds), Williams (nine points, four assists), Jackson (eight points, four assists, two steals), Taylor (eight points, two steals), Moore (eight points, eight rebounds), Bell (six points, five rebounds), and Flemming (four points).

Los Medanos led 40-39 at halftime.

* The Storm lost at home, 85-82 to Contra Costa College-San Pablo, on Feb. 9.

NVC was led by Farrington (27 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two blocked shots), Bell (21 points, eight rebounds, two assists), Jackson (14 points, seven rebounds, two steals), Broome (eight points, nine rebounds, three assists), Moore (eight points, five rebounds, two assists), Taylor (four rebounds), and Williams (two rebounds).
