6 NVC players named to All-Bay Valley Conference men’s soccer team

Six players from Napa Valley College were named to the All-Bay Valley Conference men's soccer team, Storm head coach Rogelio Ochoa announced.

Selected first-team All-BVC for Napa Valley:

* Ivan Chavez: sophomore, defender.

* Angel Tapia: sophomore, defender.

* Ulisses Cruz: freshman, midfielder.

Selected second-team All-BVC for Napa Valley:

* Jonah Segura: freshman, defender.

* Isaí Mata: freshman, forward.

* Justin Sotelo: sophomore, forward.

Napa Valley (11-7-1 overall, 9-2-1 Bay Valley Conference) took second place in the conference, ending the 2023 season with three straight wins and an 8-1-1 record over its last 10 games.

Woodland Community College (12-7-2 overall, 10-1-1 Bay Valley Conference) won the conference title.

Finishing in third place was College of Marin-Kentfield (12-8-1 overall, 8-3-1 Bay Valley Conference).

Napa Valley had seven wins by shutout.

The Storm scored 44 goals, an average of 2.33 goals per game.

Cruz scored 10 goals and had two assists during the season.

Sotelo scored seven goals and had eight assists.

Segura scored three goals and had three assists.

Mata scored two goals and had one assist.

Chavez had two assists.
