NVC men’s soccer extends winning streak to four in a row

The Napa Valley College men's soccer team extended its winning streak to four in a row with a 3-0 Bay Valley Conference victory over host Mendocino College on Friday, Oct. 20 in Ukiah.

The Storm (7-7 overall, 5-2 Bay Valley) is in third place in the conference standings.

Napa Valley is 6-4 in its last 10 matches.

Woodland Community College (8-5-1 overall, 6-0 Bay Valley), which has won six straight games, is in first place.

College of Marin-Kentfield (9-6 overall, 5-1 Bay Valley) is in second place.

The Storm scored all three of its goals in the first half.

Goals were scored by:

* Ulisses Cruz, a midfielder, at the 15-minute mark, with the assist going to Ivan Chavez, a defender.

* Gedeon Ilunga, a forward, at the 25-minute mark, with the assist going to Jonah Segura, a defender.

* Angelo Dominguez, at the 38-minute mark, with the assist going to Justin Sotelo, a forward.

Carl Osifo-Doe got the shutout as Napa Valley's goal keeper.

It's a key week in the season, with two very important matches, for Napa Valley.

The Storm is at home on Tuesday, Oct. 24 for a game against College of Marin at 4 p.m.

NVC closes out the week with a road match on Friday, Oct. 27 at Woodland starting at 4 p.m.
