Storm Hustle on Display, but lose 3-1 to 49ers.

Napa, CALIF- The Storm faced off against the Yuba 49ers for their sixth conference game of the season. It was a game of small runs from both teams, but ultimately the Storm fell 3-1.

Napa showed it’s resiliency in each set pushing to 20 plus points in each set. After a slim lead in the first a string of unforced errors by the Storm gave the lead to Yuba which they didn’t concede. The second set the Storm protected their server taking an early lead. In the rest of the set each team went on small two and three point runs. The Storm were first to reach 20 and held that slim lead despite the late charge from the 49ers to take set two 25-23.

Set three and four Yuba was able to get into a rhythm offensively finding their outside and middle hitters putting pressure on the Storm front line and passers. Storm errors in key runs halted any momentum to tie or take a lead. They battled for each point, only to fall 21-25, and 25-20 in the last two sets.

The next game for the Storm is an away game Friday 10/5/18 and Mendocino College first serve scheduled for 6:00 pm.
